We are Empowering Women Creatively


Akanksha Samiti, a voluntary registered non-government organization, is the development arm of the Indian Administrative Officers’ Wives Association of Uttar Pradesh. The organization, established in 1987 by Ms. Shyamala Kalyan Krishan, the wife of the then Chief Secretary of UP, focuses on empowerment of women and girls, particularly those who are underserved and marginalized.


Our Objectives


To facilitate capacity development and empowerment of under-served and marginalized women and children through access to information, training and services related to education, health, employment and income generation.

To increase information, access and utilization of government development schemes by the intended beneficiaries, particularly in remote/rural areas.


Our Area Of Operations


Akanksha Uttar Pradesh Headquarters are at Butler Palace, Jopling Road Lucknow. Divisional and District operations are envisaged in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh as per Akanksha's goal and objectives by the Divisional and District Akanksha presidents and teams.



The MOU was signed by our President Mrs. Meera Mishra in the presence of Shri. Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Union Minister for Industry and Commerce and Shri. Kapil Dev Aggarwal, Hon’ble Minister of State for Vocational Training and Skill Development.



"A donation of Rs 5 lakh was given to UP Covid Care Fund by Akanksha. The UP IAS wives association also contributed in this noble initiative through Akanksha."



"Hon'ble Cabinet Minister Shri. Suresh Khanna visited Akanksha and was very happy with the enterprise and the products. He expressed a keen desire to replicate this model in his constituency-Shahjahanpur."



Akanksha Samiti was on 18/03/2018 felicitated for the work done for empowering women by BASB (National Alliance for Swatch Bharat ). Our President was presented with a momento by Mr. Rajnath Singh, Home minister Government Of India, Akanksha Samiti also presented to the honorable home minister a gift hamper of products made by Akanksha MMPK. Three cheers to the whole team of Akanksha.

Skill Development Partnership


Akanksha Samiti is committed to fulfil its objective of facilitating capacity development and empowerment of under-served and marginalized women and childrenthrough access to information, training and services related to education, health, employment and income generation.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Akanksha Samiti and UP Skill Development Mission at the Global Investors Summit on 12th Feb 2023, wherein Akanksha Samiti’s role would include the following:



Introduction of Millet based products in our bouquet.

As the UN is celebrating 2023 as the International Year of Millets, Akanksha is all geared up to contribute through introduction of healthy, nutritious and sumptuous recipes made from millets such as Ragi Idli, Bajra Pua and Bajra Laddoo.

The Akanksha Vidya Kendra is an informal school run by Akanksha Samiti to provide quality primary education to children coming from the economically weaker sections of the society. The children are primarily drawn from the slums in and around Butler Palace Colony, Lucknow. The school has a strength of about 60 students.
